I posted a question about hamster potty training last week, I seem to have been successful, so I thought that I would share my technique here. The hamster potty that I bought has a little scoop to it, must like a cat's litter box. I bought Buttons one of those hamster potties last night because he keeps digging to the bottom of his litter and peeing directly onto the bottom of the cage (stinky situation, let me tell you). So my hamster had been using one corner of the cage to pee in, but then a couple nights ago, I scooped out the soiled bedding.  Now she uses the opposite corner, where I *think* she had been previously storing food.  I was always under the impression that hamsters only use one corner to do their business, so is it normal for her to change her mind ( Read more... )

I've seen a few litter box type things for hamsters and was wondering if they actually work? Has anyone tried these?

How well do hamster potty things work? I'm considering setting some up in my hamsters cages.

(because, dear god, I have six cages and one giant fish tank to clean a month. Anything, anything to help.)

I had talked to my mom about getting a teddy bear hamster "in the future" But yesterday when we was picking up some supplies for our fish tanks Mom goes to look at the hamsters.
